LDS Divorce and Child Custody Lawyer

A Different Perspective Unfortunately, divorce and custody conflict exists within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These stressful life changes can shake the faith of even the most dedicated member of the church. I am an active member of the church and graduate of Brigham Young University. I rely on faith, hope, and my experience as a family therapist to represent clients in divorce and child custody issues. I believe that family law conflict does not have to be traumatic. Through a fair legal process, faith in the Lord, and hearts willing to forgive, families can maintain their faith throughout the stressful divorce and custody process. Mediation When divorce is inevitable, I recommend divorce and custody mediation. Mediation is a collaborative process that helps both parties come to an agreement about divorce and custody issues. For the most part, mediation removes the need for antagonizing attorneys and costly litigation. While feelings of anger and pain cannot be eliminated in a divorce, the mediation process helps minimize the effect of these feelings. Legal Representation When mediation is not possible, I will represent one party with fair and reasonable legal goals. My focus is making sure that you acheive your legal rights without resorting to faith damaging antics against the opposing party. Examples of appropriate representation include making sure you get your fair share of property when getting a divorce (including spousal support), seeking child support, or ensuring a fair and safe parenting plan for your children. Healing Through Faith and Hope Above all, I believe the Grace of Jesus Christ can heal families who go through divorce. The Atonement brings hope for new life, the power to make needed changes in yourself, and a peaceful heart. For those of you in the midst of divorce or custody issues, I would be honored to bring my perspective and hope in serving you during this stressful time.
